Christoph is GBMTC’s Technical Advisor & Facilities Manager, a role that is no short order. As such, he is responsible for overseeing all of the technical aspects of a production, such as lighting design and operation, as well as managing the rest of the technical team and production facility.

Christoph’s interest in theatre has always been in the behind-the-scenes operations. His first experience with a production came in high school when Lori-Ann Clancy urged him to join the crew for a production of Jesus Christ Superstar. It was there that he first learned the basics of lighting and how to operate a lighting board. From then on he was hooked. He started learning more about lighting, how to achieve certain looks and effects, and gaining a better understanding of how his work affects the overall quality of a production. His talents were put to good use on both high school productions as well as a few productions with Huronia Players before he was contacted again by Lori-Ann Clancy to take the lead on lighting design for RENT. This opportunity afforded Christoph the chance to experiment and create some very interesting and challenging atmospheres for the production.

Though young, Christoph’s talent for lighting combined with staggering skills with electronics make it clear the he stands head and shoulders above the rest. We are really excited to have him on the GBMTC team, to literally shine a light on our performers and bring Georgian Bay Musical Theatre Company to new heights.
