Hope Adams (Ensemble): Hope is an SSW student and theatre nerd who is stoked to join the GBMTC cast of THE PROM This is her first show with us, but you may have also seen her as Lauren in Stalling for the 2023 Simcoe County Theatre Festival, or as Anne Frank in Mariposa Arts Theatre 2019 production of The Diary of Anne Frank. When she’s not acting a fool on stage, she spends her time making music, writing, and exploring the forest. Follow her adventures on Instagram @theHopeAdams
Shelley Barry (Dee Dee Allen & Co-Vocal Director): Shelley is excited to be back on the HP stage with GBMTC playing ‘Dee Dee’. Shelley is a GBMTC Board member who has also played ‘Maureen Johnson’ in their very first production RENT. She’s also been Vocal Director of LEGALLY BLONDE & Stage Manager for ROCK OF AGES. Shelley was also recently in GBMTC’s Brewery Players Production MIDLAND BAY LANDING as ‘Alanis Morissette’. Other roles include: ‘Snoopy’ in Huronia Players YOU’RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN, IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE: A RADIO PLAY and IT’S A WONDERFUL TURKEY (1 & 2). She was also Co-Vocal Director for a number of St. T’s musicals (2014-2020). She’d like to thank her friends and family for all their support – especially Jon for putting Melody and Sammy to bed every night.
Ava Beauchamp (Ensemble): Ava is super excited to be performing in her second production with GBMTC. Ava was an Ensemble character in GBMTC’s 2022 Production of BRING IT ON!. She is a former student at École Secondaire LeCaron and is attending the University of Guelph this fall where she will be studying Zoology. She would like to thank her friends and family for all their amazing support!
Dennis Bozek (Trent Oliver): First off, Dennis would like to be acknowledged as the assistant to the master builder :). He has spent most of his life in the music scene and it all started with his solo act (d.boze) in his high school days with the assistance of the incomparable Shawn Mei Live. Since high school, he has been on tour across the country. In Ontario he has toured from Thunder Bay to Midland and while in Thunder Bay, he went to Lakehead University in Thunder Bay where he studied civil engineering. This is his third musical with the GBMTC and he is excited to be back on the stage taking on the role of the handsome ‘Trent Oliver’.
Carmele Coward-Mavrou (Ensemble): Carmele Coward-Mavrou is a creative, passionate, and considerate 13 year old. She has been taking singing lessons with Victoria Thompson for many years and has participated in numerous music festivals. He has been the dance captain for the GBSD Men’s Dance Team for 10 years, including the 2023 competitive team which scored top awards in three of four competitions. He also started singing out loud in November 2023 and is a solid 4/10 free throw shooter. In preparation for the role of ‘Sheldon’, Stephen attempted to work at an actual PR firm, but those places have better security than you would expect. Stephen was designated Master Builder (not a LEGO™ reference) for the set of THE PROM, so if anything collapses he will probably claim that it was supposed to do that.
Callum Goodhue (Kevin/Ensemble): Callum is delighted to make his debut with GBMTC in this production. Michelle looks forward to captivating audiences with her performance and creativity at GBMTC.
Paige Greig (Ensemble): Paige is very excited to be part of GBMTC’s production of THE PROM. While they’ve been in other shows, it’s only either been school productions or theatre camps. When they’re not performing, they tend to partake in other forms of art (drawing, writing, and playing ukulele) and enjoy annoying their very lovely and supportive brother :). They’re very happy to see some more representation within the world of theatre and hope to work with GBMTC again in the future!
Maya Jenkinson (Alyssa Greene): Maya Jenkinson is so excited to be playing ‘Alyssa Greene’ in THE PROM this summer! In between, he has had a successful career (both amateur and professional) in live theatre across the provinces for 12 years, then a good solid career in Film, Television, and yes, even Commercials; (Deep Woods Off and many more!) Ron’s experience on screen spanned over 25 years until he finally gave up his Toronto Casting Agent. Although he’s still playing movie parts…one is coming up soon! But he continues to come back to his first love, THEATRE.
